Saliceti, Antoine-Christophe

   attorney, political figure
   Born in Saliceto, Corsica, Antoine-Christophe Sal-iceti (or Salicetti) served, during the revolution of 1789, as a deputy for Corsica to the Constituent Assembly and the Convention. He put the young Napoléon Bonaparte (see napoléon i) in charge of artillery under the command of General jacques dugommier at the siege of Toulon (1793). Saliceti also served a member of the Council of Five Hundred (1797), then as minister of police and of war under joseph bonaparte in Naples.
